Abu Azaitar vs Marc-Andre Barriault- Has Abu received the bag yet? (Biggest x-factor in this matchup). Kidding aside I think this should be a banger and both men will be throwing heat in the first 7.5 mins here. Abu hasn’t fought in nearly 3 years and is coming off a USADA suspension. After what happened on Fight Island I think it’s safe to say the Azaitar brothers will do just about anything to get a win inside the UFC. Abu being 35 years old and possibly without the juice for this fight is a pretty bad look for him, considering the long layoff and everything else I have a hard time picking him to win here. Not saying Barriault is some top 10 MW and it’s not possible but a lot of things are against Azaitar here. Azaitar has upside early for sure but when that first 5 mins comes off the clock I don’t believe any person holding a Azaitar ticket will be comfortable watching the last 2 rounds play out. Azaitar has a pretty bad gas tank and I expect him to fade in this fight if it extends. Marc Andre Barriault hasn’t shown too much finishing ability in the UFC thus far but this isn’t Andrew Sanchez, this isn’t Jotko, this isn’t Park. This is Abu Azaitar, the style of fight doesn’t compare to that of the previous 3 I just mentioned. This one more aligns with the Oskar Piechota fight. Just like that one I expect big moments from both guys early but more than likely Abu will be fading just like Piechota did. Largely expect a Barriault finish in rd 2 or 3 but I am not ruling out the Abu power in rd 1 to get it done. I think the under 2.5 rounds is mis-priced in this one. +165 is available in most places, that indicates this fight goes under only 37.7% of the time. That is WAY off all things considered, will be making a play on this soon.
